Oh, me too Nany. And wouldn't we give him heaps right back at him, LOL

He likes to tell it as it is. So do I when I come up against medicos like him.

Me three!

I just Netflixed the first season and am awaiting the second. Though they had a tilt test on a recent episode that flipped the patient up and down rapidly--now I don't know about your TTT but mine wasn't like that.

I think we need a really awesome cure or at least a reliable good fix to get on House--he likes his miracle magic fixes. But sign me up.

He did give a woman viagra to increase her blood volume. Anyone want to try it? Joking!

My son LOVES that show! We should write into the network, and tell them about POTS! There are sooo many symptoms, it should fill 2 episodes! LOL

I can see House telling the patient "well, the good news is, it's not your heart, your legs, your breathing, your stomach, your head, your blood pressure, your heart rate, that's wrong with you. The bad new is, it IS your heart, your legs, your breathing, your stomach, your head, your blood pressure, your heart rate that's wrong with you!" They are ALL out of whack.

Well done Cybermom melanie!

I think you should be writing House's dialogue.

It gave me a great laugh. LOL.

BTW, I believe in 'gut instinct' too. They (medical profession) often refer to the bowel as the second brain and I believe it. I do get phsyical 'gut instinct.' I feel things in my gut. Strongly. I also feel things in the heart, too. These things I trust in.

He did flip the patient up and down--but it happened to be his ex-wife's husband (underlying thread=he was still in love with her) he knew when he was rapidly putting him up and down that it's not the way the test is normally done.

Oh, I do love House. He can be passive agressive, agressive and assertive. Like most of us. But he's an exaggeration, of course.

Most of all, I love the way he breaks stupid rules.

That's how I see part of his character, anyway.

Pity I don't see the show more often. I see that things I want to watch on tv are coming but a lot of the time when they finally televise them I'm not up to watching them.

This is becoming more and more a problem in the past few years. Hard to read a book, hard to sit through a tv show. I did go to the movies on sunday morning. Early session and the theatre was empty. This theatre has seats with arms that can be raised out of the way so i can lie across a couple of seats. Problem is that it's so damn noisy and so bright I have to wear 'shades' in the movie theatre. LOL. Yes, I look ridiculous. But I don't care.

I saw 'Charlie Wilson's War' and given that my ability to focus mentally (and sometimes visually) on anything for very long is pretty much AWOL I thought it was a very good movie and will watch it again when it is released on DVD.

This was the first movie I'd been to in over a year I think. I can't remember the last movie I went to. So, it could be longer. I used to love going to the movies.

All the doctors I've seen (and some nurses) say I should go see House Smiler Wish he existed. I'm sure just a tap from his cane would cure us. ha!

I loved your reply, it is funny!! I am a nurse and I can just see my self listing all my symptoms to him. I was told by a doctor one time that my problem is that I am a nurse and knows a lot about health and I create all these signs and symptoms in my head!! Then I thought uhm!! why anybody would be stupid enough to make and feel all these!! It is so sad!

I just watched an episode of house from season 3 I think it was and, as always, he's being accused of being a drug addict/drug seeker. He turned around and said, "Im in pain."

I was so happy that they let his character say that. I think there are so many people in pain who don't get decent pain relief as I think the 'war on drugs' (and yes, it overflows to Australia too) has gone to far when it's starting to deny people that are in pain proper pain relief.

Some docs seem to think you have to be terminal to deserve pain meds strong enough to give you relief from pain.

I was faced with a hard choice this week. Because of allergies to many meds, including many pain meds, my pain doc said the only alternative was to give me a drug that would make me feel 'out of it' all the time but would relieve my pain.

I had to decline (and I think he was relieved) because I don't want to live my life 'out of it' and because I'm hoping to get a car and start driving again -- and I can't think how I'd be able to drive in that state. Cross fingers, hope I can manage to carry on like I've been doing -- it's not a great solution but I don't want to be taking meds that make me 'out of it' unless it's very, very necessary.

How about we start a letter writing campaign to the House producers/writers? They must be getting ready to start writing their next season's episodes....

DVR (tivo) is a blessing - I can tape my shows and watch them when I want...and fast forward through the commercials.

Blueskies - I know exactly what you mean about your ability to focus mentally. I LOVE reading books and used to be able to read a book in a few hours. Now, I was so ecstatic when I finally was able to read a couple weeks ago because my brain just doesn't like to focus. It is draining. So strange how using your brain takes all your energy..

This is great! I got a card from my coworkers (all nurses) telling me that they booked me on a flight to see House. I think we should contact the show under the condition that they must find a cure. If only....

This is a great show and I never miss an episode - tape them if I can't watch. I did see the one where he did a TTT on a patient but it was so unrealistic - it was just flying up and down! He also made fun of Fibromyalgia and CFS on one show which ticked me off. Did anyone ever catch that?

Hi Canada,

No, I didn't see the show where he made fun of Fibro and CFS. That would have ticked me off too. But that's House -- he ticks everyone off. Maybe his making fun of fibro and CFS is a story line set up for him getting a patient with one in the future? Hope so.

I hear about the ttt show -- did not see it. But someone posted on one of these forums about that episode and the ttt and said he had a grievance with the patient and did it deliberately.

Because I'm in Aust. I get to see most episodes quite some time after you all do. And some nights I'm too damn tired to sit up and watch them. Maybe one day I'll get the energy up to work out how to tape the shows.
