I would like to pass this delicious dessert to all for the holidays. This was made EVERY Christmas by my grandmother until she passed away on 12-10-97. My mother makes it each year and know this is my 1st year to do it. So, I would like to "pass" it on to all my great supporters on this site. Merry Christmas all.
7 Layer Jello Grease pan, 9 x 13, with oil (a glass pan looks nice if you have one) One each of small box jello( any 4 flavors that you like) You will need: 2 cups milk 1 cup sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 packs Knox Block Jello 1 pint sour cream Dissolve each jello seperately in 1 1/2 cup boiling water. (I make one, then do not make the next until I added a "white" layer of the jello, that way it cool down enough for use but does not have time to set up in the bowl.) Add Knox Block jello packs of 1/2 cup COLD water, stir til dissolved(this will get thick). Set aside. Heat until almost boiling, stir often: 2 cups milk 1 cup sugar Turn off heat and add the dissolved Knox Jello. Cool slightly (about 5 mins) then add: 1 pint sour cream 2 teaspoon vanilla Mix well and set aside. (Must be completly cooled before you add it to the flavored jello) Layer the pan by alternating dissolved jello and 1 1/2 cups of milk mixture. Start by pouring jello in your pan, refrigerate it untill jello is completely set(this will be the hardest thing about this dessert, you must wait until each layer is compeletely set before adding the next layer or it will blend into each other!!!!) Take from refrigerator and add milk mixture, then return it to refrigerator. Do this until you have each layer done. Looks good & tastes great. Merry Christmas all Love Tammy C In a single day, we will play many roles-parents, spouces, and children to our own parents. In every role, we will also play the part of friend... |
