Well, I have an appointment for the 22nd through the 26th of August at the Cleveland Clinic. I got the Remote 2nd Opinion back last week and they confirmed my dys, NCS, Orthostatic Intolerance. They also pointed out that my Migraines, which I have been suffering from without much relief since January, are related to my neck from both car accidents, so I will also be treated for that when I get there. My neurologist and cardiologist have agreed to work with the treatment plans I am sent back with, so I have some hope, for once! I am a little worried about the trip though. I have not traveled that far since I came down with all of this and have heard that it may be rough. I will be traveling by plane for 6.5 hours, from Phoenix, plus the 2 hour drive from Tucson to get to Sky Harbor. Cross your fingers for me that I tolerate the trip. My doc has given me a prescription for Ativan to use while I am traveling. He thinks it will help. He has also given me pain medication since we are both sure I will end up with a wicked migraine, and am currently not allowed to take my Migraine meds, per the Doctors at the Cleveland Clinic. I have felt so hopeless lately until I got the 2nd Opinion back. But it seems like they actually want to help me, which is a HUGE change from some of the doctors I originally saw here.

Best of luck at the Clinic. It is a GREAT place, that is where my hubby was dxed in 2002. He was seen by Dr Fouadt and then on the second trip there, he was seen by one of the migraine spec. His dys was caused, by what we think, was one to many car accidents and the whiplash. That was the only thing that we can think of.
Let us know how it goes.

All the best to you Rachel - glad you are going to be seen and hopefully get the treatment you deserve. Make sure you stay really hydrated on the plane and if you get airsick or dizzy, don't forget the dramamine patch!

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts. I am going to see Dr. Fouadt and Dr. Cherian. Dr. Cherian is a Migraine specialist and thinks that the car accidents have caused my neck some injury, even though the MRI's and CT's all come back and say that there is no bone damage and no visible nerve damage. He thinks that this is what is making my headaches so bad and so frequent. I just pray that I can get pointed in the right direction and get to feeling better soon. I am not used to being sick, and not being able to work or drive is starting to wear on me a bit. I was such an active person before all of this and now everything is so different. I will be sure to update you all when I get back.

He is who my hubby had seen too, I could not rememeber his name. They are VERY helpfull. Have you ever tried seeing a chiropractor? My hubby goes for the neck injuries and it has been very helpfull with his POTS too? Just an idea

I used to go to the chiropractor a few times a month, but after my accident in January, I got a bad migraine every time I was adjusted. I have been terrified to try it again.
It is good to know that both Dr. Fouadt and Dr. Cherian are so well liked and that they were able to help all of you. I am actually excited to get up there and see them. That is so weird! Ever since all of this I have been to so many doctors and actually dread the days that I have an appointment. In fact, I have had a sinus infection for the last 3.5 weeks, but don't want to go to the Dr. again! My husband says I have to go next week though if it does not clear up by Monday. ARGH!
