Hey...just curious. I am a little concerned. For a little over 3 or 4 weeks now my abd. has increased in size considerably. It is very swollen. I have gained approx. 5 lbs and it has all gone to my abd. This has never happened to me before. Very uncomfortable. No pain, just uncomfortable. I'm wondering if it has to do with my POTS. I am a very tall, thin person and I look totally rediculous with this large belly.

Has anyone had this happend to them? It won't come off for nothing.

Susan f.

I think you'd find that abdominal swelling is common to a lot of people with POTS. I get it. However, if it's a new symptom Susan, I'd speak to your doc about it. I always mention new symptoms to my doc as I have been told that I should not put everything down to POTS as is my tendency. Any new symptom should be discussed with your doc.

This happens to me a lot--so bad my ribs feel stretched and sore--worse after I eat--even small meals. It seems a common problem. My worst was when I was put on potassium citrate for kidney stones.

Tell your dosctor IS a good idea.

Sorry for you troubles.

I think you should have it checked out - could be related to POTS but not everything is. Perhaps a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound to rule things out.

I have always had problems with my stomach being distended after eating, but it seem in the past three weeks it looks like a ball and I'm fairly thin except for this "pregnant" looking stomach. Glad to know it's not unusual.
