Forgive me if I already recently asked about this. My brain has not been cooperating lately. Okay, I know some of you know about this. What does it mean, and what do I do about two years of positive Igg? I heard it means something bad, but I don't know what doc will do something or if I should push this matter. It is too low. Please explain! Thanks.

This information might be a first step.

Rosie sings her "get a sleep study" song (which may REALLY help me BTW--THANX ROSIE!) and I guess this is going to be my song.
GET A VITAMIN D LEVEL RUN! http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/treatment.shtml I was VERY low on D and so have been MANY people on this list. Run a search there's a thread open here about this now. It makes sense actually if your body is under stress for a long time that you'd be flat out of it. Low D levels can cause a host of troubles--not the least of which is affecting your immunity. And it's very easily tested for and fixed. One of the few EASY things we can do to make ourselves feel better! Hope this helps! Sandy XOXOXOXOX Sandy Sims PS: Yes, I DO believe you! I know it can mean an infection in the body or some non-specific autoimmune troubles, or it can be slightly high in some people and mean absolutely nothing. My 2 nieces, ages 7 & 11, were being tested for Celiac Disease since I'm their Aunt and I have it and it's genetic, so as a result of that the drs had to take a look at their IgG levels. They were high for both of the girls, but the other tests were negative...no Celiac or anything else, and the docs said IgG levels can be high without any cause to worry sometimes. Not saying there's never a cause to worry, or not to look into it, but in some cases, all is well even when IgG is elevated.

Whoops, just re-read your post and noticed you were asking about LOW, not high. Sorry bout' that! I'll leave the info up though in case anyone looking at this is curious about high levels as well.

Nesh . . . My IgG levels also tested low last year and it was suggested that I see an immunologist since "it is possible that may be predisposing me to some immune related problems that might need attention." That was one year ago and I've had many health issues as well as the death of my mother this year, so I put it on the back burner.
I just recently shared these results with my pcp and am waiting to hear back from him on the next step. My IgG subclass 1 was 208 (normal is greater than 456) and IgG subclass 2 was low at 77 (normal is greater than 125). I haven't had a chance to look at the above posts to read the links mentioned. I'll do that now. Hope it's not too scary! Please let me know what you find out about this, and I'll do the same. Maybe we can learn more about this together. |

Just read the link included in Makrina's post. I don't really like the sound of it. Guess it's time to get to the bottom of this.
I don't want to deal with ANYTHING ELSE right now. I'm kinda getting tired of all these things continuing to pop up out of nowhere! Dear God, am I not living right or something? No, seriously I don't feel that way. I'm so fortunate in so many ways, so here I go counting my blessings again and I'll just deal with whatever comes my way, just like everyone else does. This is not a fun club to be in, but I'm thankful for all the support on here. I know I'm not the only one going through this. I wish absolutely no one had to go through this! It's so T-I-R-I-N-G!!! |

Is there a relationship to Vit D and IgG? The both predispose a person to all kinds of evil diseases.

Mollie--I HEAR YOU! I've often thought I MUST have been Hitler in a previous life! <chuckles>
It's all a bit overwhelming--quite a bit. Days I get so down I don't know how to find up!! But, for me, looking in the mirror and facing it helps. Somehow I find "Sandy" behind that awful sad, tired face with he black circles under her eyes. And Sandy doesn't quit!!! It is what it is--life goes on--so I'd best get on with it. For me that means keep trying to find a doctor with a clue and researching online for vitamins and such that may help some in the meantime. Ok, so that's BS--some days I cry--some days I scream--but many other days I find a way to laugh about it. Let's face it, this is all TOO WIERD to be true! But it is!!! So I called Rosie the other day--so down I figured to just give up -- since NO ONE really gets it anyway. In under a minute we were laughing like school girls!!! Thanks Rosie!!! In short, when the load gets to heavy find someone to share it with. PM me. I'll give out my phone number. Likely we'll find a way to make each other feel better. On the Vitamin D issue, N? I took 50k --they gave me an RX for it. The first dose I purged all night long as if getting prepped for GI testing!!! Maybe was the Valtrex and Ciptro I was on at the time--who knows? Then I took 7k smaller doses daily instead--and DO get out in the sun. 15 minutes per day will do it if you're light skinned. Have had my PTH tested often--My mom had a PT tumor--can't get them to run a scan since my PTH is all over the map--borderline high but never over the mark, calcium all over the map. D? They "say" takes a while to get back up if you don't get into the sun --can be months!!! And ya gotta take calcium with it or the extra D will leach it since they work together--1500 mg per day with 50k D per week is what the Endo doc said--and magnesium at 1/2 the Calcium dose 750 (this one they didn't tell me I had to find out later) Zinc also goes with this--tho I don't know the exact dose I just try to take a small pill of it too. So, in a month my d came back up? Was supposed to take at least 2 months for ANY results? But it went from 20 to 57--with 50k per week AND sun. By then I was starting to feel queasy in the sun--even when not hot--thinking I was getting close to too much. So, after it came up, I kept at the sun and dropped back on the D pills to 1,000 per day--but in 3 weeks it dropped to 30? Again NOT supposed to be possible? Thing is my D25 is low--my d 125 is high? Probably the high d 125 is why the D pills making me sick? This is ANOTHER one of those "impossible" things--low D "should" be low on ALL tests. Yeah well~~~~<chuckles>. Doc is now running another set --thinking a lab error? LOL Want to bet it's not? Want to bet when it comes back again he'll just scratch his head and walk away--just like the other doc? So here's the thing. Your body can NOT over absorb D from sun--so sun can't hurt. Past that I take calcium and magnesium til my body refuses them--i.e I quit having bowel movements and my kidneys hurt (I get stones). I take as much as I can--til I can't--and hope my bones will get better. And I drink lots of water to help my body deal with the minerals it seems NOT to want to absorb properly (osteoporosis). So--N--when YOU find the answer maybe you'll let Me know????<chuckles> As usual I'm clueless. <shrugs> XOXOXOXOX Sandy Sims PS: Yes, I DO believe you! If it's to be it's up to ME! ~~Out of the mud grows the lotus~~~ RSD, Hyperadrenal Dysautonomia, MVP, Raging Dyslexia (that is now much worse with the dysautonomia--so please excuse my spellnig-- |

well, no results yet about the IGg tests I await. I am afraid of these tests, because I think they detect whether u r going to get something even worse than I have. Yeah, if u read above, I have had autoimmune stuff all my life. As for the vit D and PT, my PT scan was normal, even though my PTH is way to high. So, it and the poor bone density (and even depression), among a host of other things (including my recent unexplainable 20 lbs weight gain in 2 weeks, when I couldn't gain no matter what) are all effects of low vit D. When my vit D improves so does my mood and my PTH. However, with the barely traceable vit D, it also can predispose one to all kinds of evil diseases like Cancer, among others, and the same is true for the IGg 5. So, I almost would rather not know about the results of these genetic tests. My dad has cancer now. It is scary. I also have the worst memory now, and forget in mid-sentence what the heck I was talking about. He also is suffering from that, but worse....can happen from chemo. So, he and are a perfect pair. Two formerly very smart people, and he never remembers what he is told and never remember what I say. So, we can have the same coversation daily and not bug each other. Sad, but sick funny. I think it is all related, but who knows. I forgot what else I was going to say...
