I have read on here many times about throat problems, choking, aspiration, etc. Well I didn't seem to have all the problems mentioned above, but it was about time for my colonoscopy. I went to the gastroenterologist, and he said I should wait another year for a colonoscopy, but since my mother had cancer just below her stomach, he suggested a barium swallow. Man, oh, man--you name it and it was wrong with my esophagus. I had places that held food, something called a parrots beak and the end result is that I am going to have to have an outpatient surgery where the scarring is stretched out, and botox injections. This is just the easy way of handling it. Next step would be using a scalpel and cutting his way through. If you are having esophagus problems, might want to think about a barium swallow.
