Hello - Thanks to all who sent kind wishes for my surgery on Friday. I made it through pretty well. I did have some tachy and lots of shaking afterwards but that was probably due to the anesthesia. Other than feeling like my midsection has been run over by a mack truck tire, I'm holding my own. I did notice something though. I get very sick after anesthesia so they loaded me up with Zofram. They also put a dramamine patch behind my ear which I left on for 24 hours. Funny thing was, I wasn't dizzy at all for those 24 hours. I really think that patch was helping. Granted, I was pretty much in bed so maybe I wouldn't have been that dizzy anyway, but I found it interesting.
Anyway, the surgery was successful - they accomplished what they set out to do and I am glad it's over and not hanging over my head anymore Big Grin

Hey, trebleclef,

I must have missed about you going into surgery, too. Sorry about that!

Glad all went well, and that you didn't suffer with the dizzies.

Hope the road to complete recovery (no more run over feeling) is quick.

Take care and rest,

Judi

TC,
Glad to hear you're doing alright! I wanted to home in on the dramamine patch they used with you. You may just have gotten two answers in one here.
When I first got really sick, they tried using scopolomine patches on me behind my ear to stop the dizziness [motion - sickness drug] However, I saw double and felt worse on it.
If the dramamine patch stops your dizziness, your primary prescribing doc needs to know this - as it just might be something you can use daily for the dizziness!
Unless they give me Phenergan during anesthesia, and after for about 12hrs....I will barf all over everyone and everything - even on an empty stomach.
I'm rejoicing you're on the upswing and will keep praying. C.

Hi Treble,

I guess it's my Lyme brain, but I don't remember about your surgery.

I am so glad to hear all went well and that the patch helped you. I hope you continue to heal well and quickly, too.

hugs

PS I was shocked (stressed out of this world) by the pain after my hyster!

Glad to hear the surgery is behind you and hope you are recovering well. I try to avoid surgery but sometimes it's unavoidable and the stress with worrying about it plus the toll it can take on our bodies can be quite a challenge. Sounds like you are doing good now. Smiler

Thanks everyone - yep, I'm holding my own. Not loving life right now, but holding my own. Fortunately, I haven't had any major autonomic setbacks as of yet. Hopefully, each day will just get better......
