Saw him for the first time t0day and he immediately confirmed POTS dys based on few tests done in the office and prior tilt-table-test resultls. He was very friendly, comforting and undertanding,,,emphazizing that dys is a "real entitiy" and I "really have it." Came very close to seeing if he could give me a prescription requiring all the nay-sayers and rude comment makers to kiss my back side....but, strategically left that reqest out.

He changed a bunch of meds that I know little about and am UNIMPRESSED at this point tonight...
One of my most debilitating symptoms being RLS and the med he switched me to for that hasn't touch it. So, after hours of wallowing around on my bed trying to get comfortable, adding axtra "old" sleep aids and taking a super hot shower- to try to warm up and see if that would be effective... Now I just feel ""high" on knock you out to sleep drugs without the benefit of having the base restlessness go into calm mode. Warning to anti-terrorirists activists...if the ability to cause RLS fell into the wrong hands- I can only be glad I dont' know any classified country secrets, as I don't think I could valliently pass the second round of comlete exhaustion mixed with this psycho-tourtchure tingling, tickling, nerve pity party! The compulsion to move in order to find releif (for a mere milisecond,, till I have to move again.

But, I know switching meds can take a few days of adjustment....Just hope I can maintain my "right mind" thru the adjustment time!

I'll check in later with notes on my new drug regime. One reall cool thing this is that when I mentioned I had set an appointment to go see grubb in Toledo Ohio...he was all over that.."You know of Dr. Grubb? We did rounds together and talked alot obout treating his dys patients." He said, you don't need to sped the money to travel up there to see him. "I've leardned from him, and any questions we have, I can call him on hte phone!" Just made us feel like we've finally found a doc! I Asked if he is interested in taking outher dys patients and he said "sure" he is working on getting his clientele established here and appreciates helping whoever he can.

So, Im gonna post more tommorrow about the changes in meds and would appreciate some comparisons to how other react to similiar meds.
Talk to yall later,
sheri

Glad to hear you found a good Dr. He sounds very compassionate and very willing to work with you and the fact that he knows Dr. Grubb personally can only be a good thing.

My heart goes out to you having RLS. My grandmother suffered terribly with that before it had an official name and treatment....I really hope your medication starts working for you soon and you can get some rest.
