I have been taking Midodrine, and it helps with Neurally Mediated Hypotension. But lately, I have been so nervous, and the insomnia is terrible.

Has this happened to anyone while taking Midodrine.

Also, I am on Synthroid and am wondering if the Midodrine is increasing the effects Synthroid.

Thanks

Thanks Rosie. I have been so nervous and can't sleep. Also was thinking that maybe with Midodrine, I have better circulation of Synthroid, and maybe my dosage needs to be lowered. I may try a smaller dosage of Syntrhoid for a couple of days and see if it helps.

Darn, I improve one problem, and create another one. Or maybe this is just anxiety and depression which is resurfacing.

Will be seeing th ENT soon about sleep apnea and other issues. The local sleep labs take my insurance, but the doctor's consultation isn't covered. I would have to travel about 75 miles to see the closet doctor covered by my insurance for a consultation. This insurance definately needs some improvement.

Thanks again

I had trouble with Midodrine when I first started taking it. I too had insomnia, but the good news it did get better. For me, I saw a difference after 3-4 months. It does help keep my bp up and am glad I stuck it out.

Interesting that you mention your thyroid med. I started Midodrine 11/07 and Mestinon 02/08. Since taking both these meds I have felt amazingly better. I had all the classic POTS symptoms: lightheaded, heart palps, tachy, pvcs, nervousness feeling, foggy head, vision changes.....etc. I have had marked improvment in all. Not only that, but my thyroid bw (TSH) after several years seems to be more stable. I have Hasimotos (autoimmune thyroid). I would be hyper then hypo. I was constantly having to adjust my thyroid med to try and keep it balanced. Since these meds, however I have not had to.

I hope that you too will see the same results that I have.

Thanks Dawn. I have been on the Midodrine for about 3 months, and it helps with verticle positions, but my insomnia lately has been terrible. Trying to determine if it is the Midodrine. I have suffered from insomnia since I was 19, so don't know.

Thanks
