Thanks Rosie! At least I can hope for better in the future! My sleep calibration for apnea is next Sunday! One step closer!

Have you tried potassium supplemts? Bananas aren't enough to help me. You might want to try magnesium and/or calcium sups, too.
Here's a weird suggestion I read elsewhere and people say it works, put a bar of soap in bed with you.

My potassium recently tested normal--I just eat bananas 'cause I DO get cramps. Am on calcium and magnesium with my vitamin d already--thus the wonder why. Since I just tested to have sleep apnea, and it happened at night, my guess is Rosie hit it on the head. Just gotta wait out the repeat titration, then dr visit, then sales rep meeting "process" now to actually get to the point of having the machine. BUT I jes' gotta ask this one! <chuckles> By exactly what mechanism is a bar of soap supposed to help foot/leg cramps? LOL not that I'm not willing to try jsut about anything short of cutting of the feet!

I haven't got the foggiest... I don't recall ever testing low on any of these. I never thought about it being related to my apnea, but I don't know much about the subject. hugs

I've also heard about putting a bar of soap in your bed. Some people swear by it.

I've tried stranger stuff than soap--esp with the bush medicine in HOnduras for 8 years--and some of it actually worked so~~~
Why the H not?
It's not like I can do anything else to stop it that I'm not already doing--at least not til my CPAP machine gets here. At least now I know it it happens again to BREATHE!

If you are having cramps then it is important to get your electrolytes tested before loading up on potassium.
Potassium that is too high can cause cramps as well as potassium that is too low, so you may just be making the problem worse by eating more potassium. High potassium can be deadly!

I've been tested often for this one--it's one of the "normal" bloodwork things. So far it's slightly on the low side of the normal range--or mid-range (when I've been eating banannas)
Seems now to repond better to magnesium for some reason.
Again, my guess is that Rosie is right==that night I woke up every hour on the hour with sweating, heart pounding and shaking stuff again--likely sleep apnea at work and lack of O2. I just didn't know that it also caused cramps.
