Can anyone fill me in on the connection b/t the two?
I have several deficiencies and a triglyceride level of 29. I've been taking Alpha Lipoic Acid and have no problem with it. But, I tried Taurine and Acetyl L Carnitine and had a horrible tachycardia episode. I took them both at the same time so I'm not sure which one caused the reaction.

Thanks,
Amy

The methylation cycle or even nitric oxide cycle can be screwed up. It is screwed up in different parts of the cycle for different people, meaning you may have too much or too little of an important amino acid or vitamin that helps the cycle to function properly. Hence, while one amino acid may work for one person, another may not.

Taurine has never been a problem for me but it could be different for you.
I suggest you try the taurine again, seperately and see how it goes. Maybe in a lower dose. That's really the only way to find out. Unfortunately I've had to do a lot of experimenting on myself.

I tried carnitine over a year ago and something didn't work right but I can't remember what the issue was. Nothing really awful though otherwise I think I would remember.
