I went to the Dr. Wed. and he said he's never seen me look so good. I have been going to him for over a year. It's been 4 weeks since my last surgery (he put in a port for daily fluids). My bladder and kidneys are not flushing like they used to. I have no urinary catheter any more. My colon is doing better--have gone down from 3 to 1 med to help my bowels move. I've gone down on my seizure meds from 6 to 2 a day. No convulsions since Jan. and they were from a fever spiking. I am eating better. Better appetite. I can tolerate eating now--usually.

I can now give myself a bath and wash my hair by myself. I have washed pots in the kitchen sink. I have used the stove twice and the oven once. I have a new electric, reclining w/c. I can do laundry by setting the basket of clothes on my lap and rolling to the other side of the house to the washing machine.

This week I got to go to my sons soccer game. First time this season. I only got to go once last season because I was so sick. I was so excited. I went Wed. and Thrus. Wed. I stayed for only 3/4 of the game cuz it got too hot. (I live in AL) Thurs. I stayed for the whole game. Fri. I went out again to my support group. I have not been able to go places, even in my w/c, 2 days in a row. It would wear me out too much. I am so excited. I am going to church this weekend too. How cool is that?!!!!!

My speech is clear and strong now. No more slurred or slow speech (except rarely when I get real tired or am having a flare up).

It has got to be the lactated ringers. God is good!!! Love, Teresa

Teresa,

I am SO happy for you! I always feel better after getting IV saline so I can't imagine what getting fluids regularly like you do feels. It is so good that things are healing for you.

I just went last night to my son's first T-ball game and it was great to see him play. I felt ok most of the night. It got pretty cold but I was able to endure. I reclined on the bleachers so I could keep my volume up. I can relate to wanting to see kids play but being physically limited.

Just an FYI about me. I was born and raised in AL, Montgomery to be exact. I've lived in the Southwest for 10 years but I lived in Montgomery for 27. I can relate to that heat!

Out here is gets hot but it is a dry heat so it is more bearable. There aren't as many bugs in your house either. No huge roaches and definitely no flying ones!

And yes, God is good, I agree totally. I've been leaning on my faith really hard lately.

Stay strong. Stay faithful. Stay hopeful.

I'm really happy for you that you are doing better.

Blessings,
Amy
