I woke up bright and early today. I couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to get up and work out. I haven't in a few weeks so I felt that I needed to. I did thirty minutes on my spinning bike and then some crunches and stretching. Took and shower and felt really good.

Good for you! I was going to add a success here this morning as well..we went to the beach this morning for about an hour...before it got too hot. People looked at us strange when we left since everyone else was just getting there, but it was great to be outside even if for just an hour today. It's going to be hot and I have decided I can't just sit inside and cry about it anymore.

That's great that you went to the beach. I LOVE the beach. But now that I am on beta blockers my heat tolerance, which is usually low, is pretty much nonexistant now. I sure hope I can hit the beach at least once this summer.

I've got pretty bad heat intolerance too...which is why we went early. And tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter so I asked my husband if we could get up early and go have breakfast there - like at 7! I just want to feel like I did SOMETHING today than sitting inside in the a/c, you know?

Anyway, I'm jealous you have a spinning bike - that must be great to have in the house! Which brand do you have?

It's a Schwinn. My dad cleans a Gold's Gym in Orange Co. He's known one of the owners for years. So when they redid the spinning room the guy gave him spinning bikes. He brought it over so my mom could use it; thinking an excersize routine would help with her migraines. Needless to say she's a lazy @$$ I hate to say. She never used it. So in order not to let it stand there I use it since the doc recommended leg excersizes.

Chris~ In your post you mention your heat intolerance is worst now that you are on a BB...if you don't mind may I ask what you are on? I'm a sun worshipper and always loved the heat but now I can't be out if is above 70 without getting sick and I hadn't thought that my BB could be adding to the problem. As much as I am glad the BB is helping with the tachy not being able to deal with the sun/heat is a lousy tradeoff.

It seems repetitive with people that have POTS that cannot handle heat. We have had some humid days and in the lower 90's and I absolutely have to be in air condition. I was told that my blood is going to my skin due to heat and that is what makes me feel so bad. If I stayed out in it without being in a pool or water I would be on the ground!!I am starting to get belly fat because I cannot exercise because of over heating does anyone have any low impact ways to get rid of belly fat? I am trying to stay away from chocolate but it's hard I think I am addicted to it lol!!!I'm not even suppost to have it due to caffiene but it seems since I have had POTS I have gained 25 pounds, not sure if it is from lack of activity or what! When I eat I am so bloated and feel like the food is just sitting on my stomach YUK!! Does anyone have to take a perscription for severe nausea almost like what cancer patients take when they have chemo. I have taken every over the counter stomach med and none work and I am now experiencing heart burn nightly. Thanks!!

Laura, I had a severe reaction to Compazine, a common med x nausea, and then I was given Phenegran, which comes in pill/liquid/suppository--and there were many times that a suppository was the only way to get the med in me. There is also Zofran, put under the tongue which is almost instantly dissolved and is very sweet, but it was not as effective for me, and Marinol, I think is what it is called--anyway, it is the one make with marij#uana, but it was the least effective for me, and 10 pills cost me $400. I keep phenegran on hand all the time, and it was one of the first sx of POTS for me. Good luck. If your md knows about POTS, he definately should know about the illness and nausea.
